Jammu: Security forces on September 24 gunned down four Pakistani militants in
border village of Mandi in Poonch district of Jammu division, official sources said.
On noticing the movement of the ultras in Anganpathri area of Mandi village early on
September 24, the security forces challenged the ultras to surrender, the sources
said, adding that the militants opened fire forcing the troops to retaliate.
In the ensuing gunbattle, four militants were shot dead. However, details of their
identity and recoveries from the site of encounter were not known, the sources said.
The militants had probably crossed from across the line of control (LoC) recently
and were likely to crossover to Kashmir via Pir Panjal ranges, the sources said.
