Kanpur: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on September 24 said summoning of Ram Janma
Bhoomi Nyas chief Ram Chandra Paramhans to a court in a contempt case amounted
to "insulting" the Hindu community.
VHP international president Ashok Singhal told reporters that saints from all over
the country converging in Lucknow this week for the "dharm sansad" would take up the
matter.
He said the "sansad" would discuss various issues related to Ram Janma Bhoomi and
Rama Temple and the recent directives of the court during two-day session beginning
September 28.
"Ram Temple is an issue which can not be decided through court as this is a question
of Hindu faith," he said adding the matter cannot be solved through negotiations
either.
He also warned political parties against coming on the way of Hindutva.
On Maharashtra government's move to initiate on ban VHP and Bajrang Dal, Singhal
said the Congress government there would face the music as the state has strong hold
of Hindus.
Singhal said a commission appointed by the Centre for banning cow slaughter had
submitted its recommendations. "Now it is for the Central government to take up the
issue."
Claiming that the recent incident of explosion in Hardoi district, in which 17
people were killed, was an act of terrorists, he said he had information that
terrorists had entered Uttar Pradesh to create troubles.
To a question about distribution of cassettes of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra
Modi through his outfit, Singhal said, "I am not an agent of Narendra Modi."
He, however, defended Modi saying that he was not responsible for what happened in
Gujarat.
