Islamabad: Pakistan on September 25 scoffed at Indian allegations that Pakistan
could be behind the attack on a Hindu temple in Gujarat, which killed 30 people.
"It is ridiculous and in fact preposterous to even suggest something like that,"
Information Minister Nisar Memon said.
"It is quite clear that they (Indians) have lost all sense of balance and
proportion," he said.
Memon was responding to comments by Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani that
Pakistan could be behind the attack, based on comments by Pakistani President Pervez
Musharraf to United Nations General Assembly two weeks ago.
"Our enemy has been speaking of Gujarat in recent times and even last week our enemy
spoke of Gujarat in the UN, so it seems that the plan was on for quite some time,"
Advani told reporters at the site of the bloodbath.
Memon said that the Indian leadership should "try and prevent the spread of
communalism and Hindu fanaticism".
"They are trying to put the blame where it does not belong," he said.
He called on India to address rising extremism and "join the civilised world in
eradicating terrorism".
