New Delhi: A Delhi police team armed with a production warrant left for Ambala on
September 27 night to take custody of suspended IPS officer R K Sharma, prime
accused in the Shivani murder case, and bring him to Delhi on September 28.
"Our endeavour is to get him as soon as possible so that further investigations can
be carried out," joint commissioner of Delhi police (crime branch) U K Katna
said.
He said Sharma's surrender, this afternoon, had come about due to "sustained
pressure applied by the Delhi police and the elusive accused has been forced to come
to terms with the rule of Law".
Katna said two more accused, Kalu and Ved Prakash were the remaining elusive accused
whose names had figured in the investigations of Shivani's murder case.
