Ahmedabad: Having heaved a sigh of relief over peace prevailing in post-Swaminarayan
temple attack, the BJP in Gujarat on September 27 announced resumption of its
controversial "gaurav yatra", which was put off in the wake of the incident, from
October 5.
State BJP president Rajindersinh Rana said on September 27 that, "after consultation
with Chief Minister Narendra Modi, we have decided to resume gaurav yatra from
October 5".
Rana said over phone from Bhavnagar that the fourth leg of the Yatra, commencing
from Ambaji, would proceed towards Surendranagar via Himmatnagar.
Efforts were being made to bring Central leaders including Uma Bharati and Sushma
Swaraj for the yatra, he said.
