LeT behind Gujarat temple attack, says Advani
Saturday, September 28 2002 16:48 Hrs (IST)

Lucknow: Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani on September 28 said Pakistan-based terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba seemed to be involved in the Akshardham temple attack in Gandhinagar and accused Islamabad of unleashing a war against India by using terrorism as a policy.

"The use of AK-47 and hand grenades and carrying of dry fruits and dates was indicative of the signature of Lashkar-e-Toiba," he said addressing BJP workers here.

He said the probe into the attack was going on but broadly one could guess that the LeT was involved and the terrorists had planned a longer hold-up.

"There is already a war on and Pakistan by using terrorism as a policy was unleashing a war against us," he said.
