Indian, Pak forces exchange fire along IB, LoC

Jammu: Pakistani troops opened artillery fire and shelled Mushkoh and Battalick areas of Kargil even as forces on both sides of the border exchanged fire at several places along the line of control (LoC) and the international border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir since September 27 night, defence sources said on September 28.

No loss of life or injury was reported in Pakistani shelling in Mushkoh which lasted from 18:45 hours to 02:00 hours (IST) and artillery firing in Battalick on September 27, they said, adding that Indian troops retaliated.

Indian and Pakistani troops exchanged fire along the LoC in Tangdhar, Uri sector of Kashmir Valley and Rajouri and Poonch sectors of Jammu division on September 27 night, the sources said.

Intermittent exchange of fire was reported along the IB from Kanachak, Dab-Sudan, Layal Camp, Beli Azmat, Dera Nappu, Chaddgali, Panjore, Chinore Farm, Zero Point, Kote-Kuba, S H Way, Budhwar, Khatmarian, Karotna Khurd, Dulmachak and Sadheychak in Jammu and Kathua districts.
