CCS meet reviews overall security scenario
Sunday, September 29 2002 20:42 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) met on September 29 and reviewed the overall security scenario in the country.

The one-and-a-half hour meeting at the Prime Minister's residence was attended among others by Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, Defence Minister George Fernandes and External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha.

This is the first meeting of the CCS after the terrorist attack on the Akshardham Temple at Gandhinagar in Gujarat.

Sources in the Prime Minister's Office said the meeting reviewed the security situation across the country "in general".
