New Delhi: The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) met on September 29 and reviewed
the overall security scenario in the country.
The one-and-a-half hour meeting at the Prime Minister's residence was attended among
others by Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, Defence Minister George Fernandes and
External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha.
This is the first meeting of the CCS after the terrorist attack on the Akshardham
Temple at Gandhinagar in Gujarat.
Sources in the Prime Minister's Office said the meeting reviewed the security
situation across the country "in general".
