Bangalore: Eminent scientist and a pioneer in science documentation, Prof B V
Raghavendra Rao, passed away on September 29, family sources said. He was 94.
A physicist, Prof Rao had specialised in basic science classification, and was one
of the founders of Indian National Scientific Documentation Centre, a science
library movement in the country.
He served as chief librarian of Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore and Delhi
University, and also presided over the All India Library Congress in Benares in 1967.
Prof Rao is survived by wife, four sons and five daughters.
