Islamabad: Continuing his tirade against India, Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf
on September 30 said he would pay New Delhi back in the same coin if it continued
its "aggressive" postures towards Islamabad.
Asked about "aggressive" statements of Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and other
Indian leaders accusing Pakistan of fomenting terrorism in India, he said, "If
someone is aggressive to us then we are also aggressive, if someone talks peace, we
also talk peace."
"We pay them in the same coin," Musharraf was quoted by the official APP news agency
as saying at a function on raising the level of Mangala dam in Pakistan-occupied
Kashmir.
Earlier, reacting to Vajpayee's remarks about Pakistan's continued support to terror
in India, Pakistani Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Inamul Haq said, "Pakistan
is not sponsoring, encouraging and allowing any terrorism any where."
"Pakistan has also said there is no activity across the line of control. As such
ascribing that Pakistan is promoting terrorism is totally incorrect and wrong.
Pakistan is a peace-loving country which wishes to live in peace with its neighbours
and wishes to normalise relations with India and any accusations to the contrary are
unacceptable," he said.
