Srinagar: National Conference (NC) president Omar Abdullah on September 30 said
talks with Pakistan were necessary as terrorism had its roots in that country.
"Talks are necessary with them as they are the mother of all problems in Jammu and
Kashmir," he told reporters.
To a question as to when did he expect talks to resume with Pakistan, Omar
said "let's wait and see the result of their elections for Prime Minister".
He said the world should also draw lessons from Pakistan's continued interference in
Jammu and Kashmir and ensure stringent measures to stop President Pervez Musharraf
from extending support to militants and also ask Islamabad to take steps for
dismantling terrorists' camps.
