Islamabad: Pakistan police on September 30 claimed to have arrested three Indian
spies who allegedly planned violent attacks in the run up to the October 10 general
elections in the country.
While police said that they arrested two Hindus, allegedly agents of Indian
intelligence wing Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), the state television said a
third person, a Sikh has been detained on similar charges.
Two "Hindu" agents of RAW, one from Karachi city and other from Sanghar have been
arrested, said the Inspector General of Sindh Police Syed Kamal Shah.
He said one person by name Bajal Ram Jee was arrested while taking pictures of EXPO
Centre in Karachi while another person called Hoto Mal was arrested on the basis of
information provided by Ram Jee.
The duo are Pakistani national, the website of local daily 'The News' quoted Shah as
saying.
State television said a third person, a Sikh was also arrested. The detainees
planned to cause violence during the polls, it alleged.
