India has successfully cornered Pakistan: Sinha
Wednesday, October 2 2002 18:32 Hrs (IST)

Ranchi: India has been successful in "cornering" Pakistan by getting the world community convinced that it was the real sponsor of cross border terrorism, External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha said on October 2.

Yashwant Sinha claims India's diplomatic victory over Pakistan "Undoubtedly the terrorist camps are there and it is good that the world community has realised it. We have convinced the world players," he told reporters in Ranchi.

Asked about the possibility of a war with Pakistan, he said it was the last option.

"War is always the last option, but India has been successful in cornering Pakistan through diplomatic channels. We are still pursuing diplomatic options," he said.

Sinha also attacked Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf saying the military ruler "continues to give irresponsible statements after every incident exposes Pakistan's links with terrorism."

Stating that the people in Jammu and Kashmir had rejected terror through an impressive turnout during the J & K assembly elections, Sinha quoted Prime Minister A B Vajpayee saying, "Terrorism is in its last leg. It will be finished off very soon".
