Jammu: A joint bandh has been called in Jammu on October 3 by the Jammu Joint Students Federation and J-K National Panthers Party to protest October 2 blast inside a pilgrim bus which left two dead and 22 injured.

The divisional commissioner of Jammu, Anil Goswami, has ordered closure of all the educational institutions in the city in view of the bandh call.

Meanwhile, police and para-military troops have been deployed in sensitive areas of the city as a precautionary measure, police said, adding that no untoward incident has been reported so far.

A separate 'chakka jam' call has also been issued on October 3 by transporters to protest the militant attacks on passenger buses in Hiranagar and Manda.

The taxi operators unions in Jammu have also extended their support to the call for chakka jam.
