Balasore: India's medium range surface-to-air missile 'Akash' was successfully test fired from the Interim Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur-on-Sea near Balasore on October 4.

The missile, which has undergone a few tests earlier, was fired from a mobile launcher, official sources said.

'Akash' has a range of 25 kilometres and the capability to strike several targets simultaneously.
