Mysore: Protesting against the Supreme Court directive to Karnataka to release 9000 CUSECS of water daily to Tamil Nadu, Mysore city observed a "black day" on October 5.

Under the auspices of "Cauvery Action Council", various organisations took out a procession, presented a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner of Mysore district and later staged dharna. No untoward incident was reported.

Meanwhile, all transport services, both rail and bus, between Mysore and Mandya via Mandya and Maddur were cancelled following disturbances on October 4.

However, state transport buses were taking a detour via Holenarasimpura and Channarayapatna to reach Bangalore covering a distance of 265 km as against 135 km via Mandya.
