Agartala: President A P J Abdul Kalam left for Manipur by a special aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) on October 5 morning, official sources said.

The President had arrived in Agartala on October 4 on the first leg of his two-day maiden tour to the North-East.

He inaugurated a state-of-the-art fruit-processing unit to make pineapple powder at Bodhujung Nagar in West Tripura district and a heart care unit at G B Hospital. He also spoke to students of schools and colleges.
