Jammu: Militants ambushed Army vehicles killing two personnel on-the-spot and injuring three others in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on October 6 afternoon, police said.

The ultras fired on two vehicles carrying a patrol party in Pangai village killing two Rashtriya Rifles personnel.

The security personnel retaliated and an exchange of firing took place, police said adding that reinforcements have been rushed to the area to track down the militants.

The patrol party was on way to Rajouri from Shahdra when it came under attack.

Elsewhere in the state a militant Ishtiaq Ahmed alias Muzamil of Harkat-ul-Jehadi Islami (HUJI) surrendered before police in Kishtwar.

Security forces arrested one person at Chatru in the area for harbouring militants.
