Uzbek outpunches Harpal in boxing, Ramanand moves up

Busan: Indian boxer Harpal Singh crashed out of medal contention when he lost to Rustam Saidov of Uzbekistan in the quarter-finals of the 91-kg and above category in the Asian Games on Monday.

Harpal Singh was totally outpunched by his rival and the referee had to stop the fight two minutes into the third round.

Meanwhile, Ramanand moved ahead into the quarter-finals of the lightweight category defeating Tamim Ahmad Aktari of Afghanistan.

Mohammad Ali Qamar and Jitender Kumar are the two other Indian boxers in the quarter- finals.
