Delhi to host Royal Challenge Indian Open in March

Bangalore: The stage is set for the tee off of the Royal Challenge Grand Prix golf championship at the Delhi Golf Club from October 8 to 11.

An official event on the Hero Honda Golf IPGA Tour, Royal Challenge Grand Prix will present fans with an exciting clash between Jyoti Randhawa, who is coming off a great performance at the Dunhill Links Championship at St Andrews, defending Royal Challenge Indian Open champion Vijay Kumar and Arjun Singh, an official press release said.

Other top Indians participating include Gaurav Ghei, Uttam Mundy and Ashok Kumar. Sponsors Shaw Wallace also announced the second Royal Challenge Indian Open to be held from March 27 to 30 at the Delhi Golf Club. As South Asia's richest golf event, the Open will carry a prize money of $ 300,000.

The other Royal Challenge Grand Prix tournaments are in Calcutta, November 20 to 24 at Royal Calcutta Golf Club, South, dates of which are yet to be confirmed, and the Royal Challenge Grand Prix, Mumbai from January 21 to 25th, the release added.

"Our commitment to building the Royal Challenge brand's association with golf is stronger than ever in its second year" Shaw Wallace executive director Komal Wazir said.
