Srinagar: Four security force personnel were killed and an equal number injured when
Pakistani troops shelled Indian positions overnight in border town of Uri in Jammu
and Kashmir's Baramulla district.
Pakistani Rangers resorted to indiscriminate shelling to push in armed militants
into the district, official sources said, adding Indian troops retaliated causing
damage to a number of Pak bunkers.
Pakistani troops fired mortars and artillery shells in Bijhama and Kamalkote areas
to give fire-cover to sneaking militants, they said.
Two Army and two Border Security Force (BSF) jawans were killed in the shelling, the
sources said, adding there were no civilian casualties.
Eleven houses were damaged in Pakistani shelling at Kamalkote and adjoining areas
last week.
