Kathmandu: At least 13 Maoist rebels and one solider were killed in clashes in three
Western districts of Nepal, the Defence ministry said on October 7.
"Ten rebels, including their area commander, were killed at Takshera in the Rukum
district by security forces on October 6 after they clashed," a ministry statement
said.
"While two were shot dead at Piparia in Bara and one in Tatopani in Jumla district on
October 6."
The security forces recovered guns and explosives from the clash sites.
"The terrorists also shot dead an unarmed soldier at Madikuwa in Parbat, West of
Kathmandu, on October 6," it said.
