Stockholm: Sydney Brenner (Britain), H Robert Horvitz (USA) and John E Sulston
(Britain) were on October 7 awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine for their work on
organ development.
The Nobel jury said they had won the prize for their work on the "genetic regulation
of organ development and programmed cell death".
The formal award of the prizes is scheduled for December 10, when the three will
share a cheque for 10 million Swedish Kroner ($ 1.07 million).
