New Delhi: Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee on October 7 hoped that a solution would be found to Cauvery water row between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

"The matter is before the Supreme Court and I hope he controversy will be resolved," Vajpayee told reporters before leaving for a three-nation tour of Cyprus, Denmark and Britain.

Vajpayee said the theme of his discussions would be India's immediate concern on terrorism and the status of the global coalition against international terrorism.

"India's immediate concern on terrorism and the status of the global coalition against international terrorism will remain the major theme in my discussion with interlocutor with all the three countries," he said in his departure statement.

Regarding extradition of underworld don Abu Salem in Portugal, the Prime Minister said, "government-level talks are on".

Asked whether the issue would figure during the India-EU summit, Vajpayee said the issue of terrorism will be raised at all for a including this one.

The ongoing Indo-Pak standoff, Jammu and Kashmir elections and the evolving Iraq situation are expected to figure prominently during talks Vajpayee will have with leaders in Cyprus, Denmark and Britain.

He will also attend the third India-EU Summit in Copenhagen.

The Prime Minister's first halt will be Nicosia where he will meet President Glafcos Clerides on a wide range of bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual concern.

Three agreements on co-operation in the field of public health and medical sciences, information technology and services and cultural exchange programme will be signed during the visit.
