Busan: New faces of Indian tennis, Rohan Bopanna and Sunil Kumar Sipaeya, moved into
the third round of the men's singles competition in the Asian Games at the Geunjeong
stadium on Monday.
Both the players, who got a bye in the first round, registered easy straight set
victories in the second round, with Sunil Kumar beating Sri Lanka's Amrit Rupasinghe
6-1 6-2 and Bopanna blasting Matias de Sousa of East Timor 6-2, 6-0.
In the women's section, Niruapama Vaidyanathan ousted Natsagsuren
Jigjidsuren of Mongolia 6-0, 6-0 and Sania Mirza defeated Yulio Kitmchenko of
Kyrgyzstan 6-0, 6-1 to move into the second round.
