Chennai: A statewide bandh will be observed in Tamil Nadu on October 9, to protest
against Karnataka government's refusal to release Cauvery water to the state.
Briefing reporters after a three-hour all-party meet, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa
said, "This is only the first step. The decision to observe bandh was
unanimous".
The government will file second contempt petition in Supreme Court on October
8, she said.
