New Delhi: Stepping up its offensive against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the
Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on October 7 termed it as "power- hungry" and said the
Pakistani design to cause anarchy in the country was likely to succeed due to the
National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government's "failure" in tackling terrorism.
"The government has failed to check terrorism. Due to the inadequate steps in this
regard, the enemy's designs to make people lose faith in the government and spread
anarchy is likely to succeed soon," VHP senior vice-president Acharya Giriraj
Kishore told reporters.
To a question why BJP had forsaken its agenda and was always invoking the NDA agenda
unlike the other alliance partners, he said, "They (BJP) are more power-
hungry."
Kishore had last week charged BJP president Venkaiah Naidu with "bringing in
dictatorship" in the party by directing BJP ministers not to openly air their views
on crucial issues like disinvestment.
