Ranchi: The CPM (Communist Party of India-Marxist) politburo member, Sitaram Yechuri,
on October 7 charged that the Jharkhand Chief Minister, Babulal Marandi, was engaged
in divisive tactics to run his government.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government's reservation policy was aimed at
wooing a section of people so as to stay in power, Yechuri told a press conference in
Ranchi.
''This is a dangerous game,'' he said.
The state government was not taking other political parties into confidence while
taking crucial decisions like reservation, the CPM leader said pointing out that his
party was not in favour of giving more than 50 per cent reservation ''which is also
the Supreme Court's order''.
He also criticised the Marandi government for ''all-round failure'' in Jharkhand.
