Bomb blast in Banihal constituency, no casualties

Jammu: Militants detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) in Banihal constituency of Doda district where polling commenced on October 8 in the fourth and final phase of Assembly election in the state.

The device exploded about 50 metres away from the polling booth in Sumber area of Banihal, official sources said.

However, there was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the explosion, they said, adding, that the blast was caused with a purpose to scare the voters. Polling resumed after some time.
