Mumbai: Actor Salman Khan, who was remanded to three days' police custody on October
7 in connection with a hit and run case, was shifted in the night from suburban
Santa Cruz lock up to the crime branch cell at Crawford Market in Central Mumbai for
detailed interrogation.
The move would help in grilling the actor extensively, police said.
The actor spent much of his time in silence without interacting with the rest of the
inmates, police added.
Salman would not be provided with home made food, as his lawyer was yet to make an
application for the same.
Joint commissioner (law and order) Ahmad Javed said the actor would be accorded the
same kind of treatment as any ordinary inmate.
After undergoing the mandatory health check-up at Bhabha Hospital, the actor was led
to Santa Cruz prison on October 7 evening from where he was subsequently shifted to
Crawford Market.
