Uninspired Indian shooters continue their dismal show
Tuesday, October 8 2002 19:49 Hrs (IST)

Busan: Indian shooters continued to disappoint with their uninspired performance as Jaspal Rana failed to win a medal on the second day in running in the Asian Games on Tuesday.

Veteran Rana hardly did anything to make up for his dismal show on Monday finishing a poor 12th in the 25m standard pistol individual event with a total of 568 points.

The team event also turned out be another dismal outing for India with the country finishing seventh at the Changwon International Range on Tuesday. The team comprising Rana, Ved Prakash and Samaresh Jung could were outwitted by their formidable opponents and had to be content with a total of 1680 points.

Rana performed below par to manage 568 in the team event while Ved Prakash (561) and Jung (551) did not do anything noteworthy to improve India's position on the final table.
