Wednesday, October 9 2002 12:47 Hrs (IST)

Srinagar: Three renegade Army sources were killed by one of their associates while they were asleep in Central Kashmir's Budgam district in the wee hours of October 9, police said.

Abdul Majid, Maqbool Khatana and Mushtaq Dar were killed by their associate Mohammad Bhat when they were sleeping in a house in Kokerbagh in Khang area, the sources said.

Majid, who was an active Army informer, had fled from an Army camp along with some weapons and formed an outfit of his own, they said.

Meanwhile, militants hurled a grenade at a Border Security Force (BSF) camp in Kathidarwaza area of Srinagar city without causing any damage to life or property, the sources said.

Another bomb exploded inside a vacant house in Mehjoor Nagar area of the city. There was no loss of life in the incident, they added.
