Chennai: Tamil superstar, Rajnikant, on October 9 announced that he will go on a
fast in the city on October 12, when the Tamil film industry is scheduled to hold a
rally at Neyveli, on the Cauvery water issue, thus making it clear that he will not
participate in that rally.
The Tamil film industry had decided to hold a rally to press Neyveli Lignite
Corporation not transmit power to Karnataka till it released Cauvery waters to Tamil
Nadu.
Speaking to reporters on October 9, Rajnikant said that he would sit on fast in the
city and those willing to support him could join the fast.
He wondered how the Tamil film industry could find a solution by holding a rally.
