New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on October 10 described the outcome of Jammu
and Kashmir Assembly elections as a "victory for India and Democracy and a setback
for Pakistan".
"It is a setback for Pakistan which was attempting to disrupt the elections," party
president M Venkaiah Naidu told reporters.
He said people have appreciated the manner in which the elections were conducted in
the state and the free and fair polling that has taken place.
As for the BJP, he said, "We are going to sit in the Opposition."
