JK Polls: Farooq Abdullah to resign tomorrow

Srinagar: "I bow my head to the verdict of the people", said Farooq Abdullah who will resign as Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister on October 11 following the drubbing of National Conference in the Assembly elections.

An emergency meeting of the Cabinet has been called after which "I will submit my resignation to Governor G C Saxena", he told reporters.

Accepting the defeat, Abdullah said his party would provide a healthy Opposition.

He said the working committee of the party will meet shortly to look into the reasons for the defeat.
