Srinagar: In a major strike, militants on October 10 fired a series of grenades at a heavily guarded Border Security Force camp, housing headquarters of several battalions, at Karan Nagar in downtown Srinagar on October 10 evening, official sources said.

No one was injured in the attack, which took place around 6.20 pm as the grenades fired in quick succession fell in open areas within and outside the camp, they said.

The camp also houses office of Deputy Inspector General of Police.

No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack.
