Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on October 10 night
suggested his son Omar Abdullah quit from the Union Council of Ministers and
concentrate on strengthening National Conference in the state.
"I think it is necessary for Omar to resign from the Union Council of Ministers and
build the party in Jammu and Kashmir," he told Aaj Tak.
On whether he would himself play an active role at the Centre, Abdullah said it was
not essential and he could anyway also play an active role in state
politics.
