Bangalore: Tamil Nadu is not "proprietor" of Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) and power supply from there to Karnataka, as demanded by film personalities in that state, cannot be stopped, Chief Minister S M Krishna said on October 11.

"On the power front, none need to be anxious. Power supply from nowhere will be stopped," Krishna told reporters at Gajjalagere in Mandya district when asked about Tamil film personalities taking out a rally on October 11 to Neyveli to demand stoppage of power.

"There is a wrong perception that Tamil Nadu is proprietors of Neyveli Lignite Corporation. This is incorrect information. It is a power generating unit belonging to the Central government. So, let there be no fear on that front," the Chief Minister added.
