Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir People's Democratic Party (PDP) on October 11 said no Independent candidate had so far joined the party.

"Nobody has officially joined the party so far. These are all rumours," PDP general secretary Tariq Hamid Karra told when asked about media reports that seven Independents had joined the party.

PDP and Congress with 36 MLAs are eight short of the magic figure of 44 to form government in the state.
