Madurai: About 800 Rajnikant Fans Association members went on fast on October 12
protesting against non-release of Cauvery water by the Karnataka government.
Police said that the fast was led by district president of the association Jaffar.
Congress Democratic Forum Founder P Chidamparam and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister
M Karunanidhi's son and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader M K Alazgri were
felicitated at the venue of the fast.
