Jakarta: More than 100 people have been confirmed dead in the huge explosion that
destroyed two bars on the Indonesian island of Bali, a hospital official said.
"We have already more than 100 (bodies) and we are still counting the new arrivals,"
said Putu Prata Wisada, a doctor at the Sanglah hospital in Denpasar, some 15
kilometres North of the blast site.
The hospital had 67 dead bodies, mostly of foreigners, and a new batch of bodies
later arrived at the hospital, he said.
The Metro TV, citing its reporters at the site of the blast said a few minutes
earlier that there had been some 80 corpses lined up on the sidewalk in front of the
Sari Club, which was hit hardest by the blast.
Some of the bodies were being loaded onto trucks to be taken to the hospital, it
said.
