New Delhi: Kashmir Committee (KC) chairman Ram Jethmalani on October 16 said it
would not play any "direct or indirect" role to help Congress and People’s
Democratic Party (PDP) come together to form a government in Jammu and Kashmir,
which got a hung Assembly in the recent polls.
"Kashmir Committee is not interfering in the government formation process either
directly or indirectly," Jethmalani said from Mumbai over phone.
Asked whether the Committee had been approached by any party for facilitating a
solution to break the deadlock over the issue of Chief Ministership, the former Law
Minister replied in the negative and said the Committee had never even discussed
about it.
The Congress legislative party leader Gulam Nabi Azad on October 16 sought more time
from the Governor for discussions with PDP leaders in connection with the formation
of a coalition government in the militancy hit state.
