Islamabad: After selling a few of its twin seated trainer aircraft "Mashak" to Gulf
countries, Pakistan Air Force has now put the aircraft on sale to private
individuals.
The Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC), which claimed to have made "Mashak"
aircraft, said that it was ready to sell the aircraft to interested parties both at
home and abroad for a price of Rs 6 million.
"The price for export has been fixed at half a million Dollars," PAC chairman Air
vice-marshal Aurangzeb Khan said addressing a launching ceremony of the aircraft at
the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry on October 15.
He said a plan has been finalised to increase the aircraft's seating capacity to
four in the first phase and to six in the second phase, official APP news agency
said.
'Mashak' was designed to be a trainer aircraft for air force but PAC is now set to
sell it as an aircraft for executive use of the private sector.
Aurangzeb said that Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) would provide
assistance for cost effective maintenance and pilot support to those countrymen who
will purchase this aircraft.
He said the PAC was capable of overhauling aircraft and is engaged in preparing
10,000 parts of various types of aircraft, including Mashak, Super-7 being built in
co-operation with China.
He said Pakistan has exported Mashak aircraft to Oman, while talks were underway
with Saudi Arabia to sell few planes. A team of experts from South Africa will soon
visit Pakistan to acquire Mashak, he said.
