Dehradun: After having allowed the visit of pilgrims for nearly six months, doors of
the Badrinath shrine would be closed for the winter season on November 17, while
that of the Kedarnath temple on November 6, officials said on October 16.
They said the date for the closure of Badrinath shrine was announced by its 'rawal'
(chief priest) Badri Prasad Namboodri on the occasion of 'Dasara' on October 15.
Similarly, it has been decided that the Kedarnath Shrine would be closed for the
season on November 6.
In the first instance of both the temples allowing pilgrims' visit on the same day,
doors of the two shrines were re-opened for devotees on May 17.
