New Delhi: The National Security Advisory Board (NSAB) on October 16 favoured a
calibrated withdrawal of troops from the international border saying their continued
presence may not the best option.
The NSAB meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, discussed several
issues including the deployment of troops along the border, successful completion of
J&K polls as also the elections in Pakistan.
The Board was of the view that there should be calibrated withdrawal in a phased
manner from the international borders, informed sources said.
