Tirupati: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) chairman, P Chalapathi Rao, on
October 16 said that he would seek the full footage of a programme recently aired by
a foreign television channel which was allegedly critical in nature.
The footage would be shown to reporters and trustees of the temple at the earliest,
he said.
Rao said that the TTD would not hesitate to sue the channel if the footage was found
to damage the image of the TTD or the belief of the devotees.
TTD sources said that the programme had covered the 'commercial aspects' of the
temple. It had also recorded many events like the preparation of laddus, which are
distributed as "prasad", the queues of devotees, issue of temple tickets and the
tonsuring of heads, they said.
