New Delhi: Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee will travel to Pakistan for the next
South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC) Summit in January,
Minister of State for External Affairs Digvijay Singh said on October 17.
"The Prime Minister will go to Pakistan for the SAARC Summit next year," Singh
told 'Aaj Tak' television.
"He is going there for the SAARC summit, not for the bilateral process. Heads of
state of all SAARC countries will be there."
Vajpayee and Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf both attended the SAARC Summit
this January in Nepal's capital Kathmandu, but the Indian delegation said it
conducted no bilateral talks at the meeting.
