Srinagar: A crucial meeting of Congress Legislature Party (CLP) began in Srinagar on
October 18 morning to discuss the political situation in Jammu and Kashmir following
imposition of Governor's rule in the state.
"We must brief them what has happened," Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief
Ghulam Nabi Azad said before the meeting began.
Azad is expected to leave for Delhi where he would convey the outcome of the
deliberations.
"The views of my party colleagues were important for the Congress to chalk out the
future strategy," Azad said.
Meanwhile, Congress sources said, after October 17 night's development, there was no
move to meet the People's Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mufti Mohammed Sayeed.
Sayeed would be holding a public rally at Ganderbal Assembly constituency later on
October 18. The public meeting would be keenly watched as this could indicate the
future course of action of PDP.
