Kishore follows Singhal's lead, attacks Brajesh
Friday, October 18 2002 20:14 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) senior vice president Giriraj Kishore on October 18 joined his leader Ashok Singhal in attacking National Security Adviser Brajesh Mishra, accusing him of "putting India in US lap".

"Brajesh Mishra has the credit of putting India in US lap," Kishore told reporters, defending criticism of Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and Mishra by VHP's international president Singhal.

When questioned how, he responded, "He is the in-charge of PMO (Prime Minister's Office)."

He, however, refused to answer a question on whether that meant Vajpayee was "incompetent" and others were dictating terms.

Asked about Singhal's criticism of Vajpayee and Brajesh recently, Kishore said, "He must have experienced it".

He also took exception to thousands of activists of Jamiat-Ulema-e-Hind reaching the Prime Minister's residence on October 15 giving a slip to the security personnel and demanded a probe into the incident.

"They threatened the Prime Minister that if Muslims were not treated well, there will be no peace in India," Kishore claimed, adding it is a challenge to the nation's "sovereignty".
