Dhaka: An Air Force helicopter on a training flight crashed on October 19 in South
Eastern Bangladesh killing all four people on board, Defence Ministry officials said.
The Soviet-made MI-17 chopper, which took off from its base in the port city of
Chittagong, went down about 16:30 hours (local time) in Ukhiya, some 300 km from
Dhaka, near the Myanmar border, a Defence official said.
He said that an investigation had been ordered into the crash but could not give any
other details.
A media report said that the crash occurred after the helicopter hit a local
television tower.
